Installation

❑ Since the ports on the switch are auto MDI/MDI-X, you can use either

a straight-through or crossover twisted pair cable to connect any type

of network device to a port on the switch. Refer to “Auto MDI/MDI-X”

on page 6 for additional information.

❑ If you are creating a port trunk, do not connect the cable of the trunk

to the switch until you have configured the trunk using the

management software. Connecting the trunk cables to the switch

before you have configured the software will result in a data loop,

which can adversely affect network performance. For instructions on

how to configure a port trunk, refer to the AT-S67 and AT-S68

Software Management User’s Guide.

7. Power ON the end-nodes connected to the switch.

8. Check that the LINK/ACT LED for each port on the switch is green. If a

LED is OFF, refer to “Troubleshooting” on page 21.

The switch is now ready for use. Refer to the AT-S67 and AT-S68 Software

Management User’s Guide to manage and configure your unit. This guide is
