AT-S26 Version 2.2.2 Management Software Release Notes
PN 613-50264-00 Rev A 4 Allied Telesyn International
Omega Password and Special Characters
Do not use special characters, such as a space, asterisk, or exclamation point, when
creating a password for the Omega interface if you intend to manage the switch using a
web browser. Most web browsers cannot handle special characters in program passwords.
The Omega password should be limited to alphanumeric characters (A to Z, a to z, and 1 to
9).
Port Trunking with the Gigabit Ethernet Ports
The management software now supports port trunking on the six Gigabit Ethernet ports
on the switch. The switch can support up to two port trunks simultaneously. Ports 1 and 2
can be used as one port trunk and ports 3 and 4 as the second port trunk. You cannot use
ports 5 and 6 in a port trunk.
Caution: Do not connect the cables to the port trunk on the switch until after you have
configured the port trunk on both the AT-9006 Series switch and the remote end node.
Connecting the cables prior to creating the trunk can create a data loop in your network
topology, which can result in poor network performance.
Caution: Do not activate the Spanning Tree Protocol on the ports of a port trunk.
To create a port trunk on an AT-9006 Series Gigabit Ethernet Switch, do the following:
1. From the Omega Main Menu, select System configuration.
2. From the System Configuration menu, select System switch configuration.
The following window is display:
3. Select Port Trunking in the 1000M Speed Port.
