The following example enables shared spanning-tree on Ethernet port 1/e16.

spanning-tree pathcost method

The spanning-tree pathcost method Global Configuration mode command sets the default path cost method.

Use the no form of this command to return to the default configuration.

Syntax

spanning-tree pathcost method {long | short}

no spanning-tree pathcost method

Parameters

•

long — Specifies port path costs with a range of 1 - 200,000,000.

• short — Specifies port path costs with a range of 0 - 65,535.

Default Configuration

Short path cost method.

Command Mode

Global Configuration mode

User Guidelines

This command applies to all spanning tree instances on the device.

The cost is set using the spanning-tree cost command.

Example

The following example sets the default path cost method to long.

spanning-tree bpdu

The spanning-tree bpdu Global Configuration mode command defines BPDU handling when the spanning tree

is disabled globally or on a single interface. Use the no form of this command to return to the default configuration.

Syntax

spanning-tree bpdu {filtering | flooding}

Parameters

•

filtering — Filter BPDU packets when the spanning tree is disabled on an interface.

• flooding — Flood BPDU packets when the spanning tree is disabled on an interface.
